Marching Illini Member Announcements It is recommended that all members of the Marching Illini perform in a concert band whenever possible. All first year wind and percussion members should perform in a concert band in the Fall, and are required to perform in a concert band during the Spring semester following their first season in the Marching Illini. Students choosing not to participate in a concert band will be required to re-audition for the Marching Illini in the Spring semester following their first season of participation. Participation in a concert ensemble during the second semester waives the first year re-audition requirement. Following the second season as a member of the Marching Illini, students are not required to re-audition for the Marching Illini. Concert ensembles that fufill the requirement include Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band I, Symphonic Band II, Concert Band I, Concert Band IIA & IIB. Basketball band does NOT fufill this requirement.
